PSR, a leader in the development of analytical tools for the electric power sector and energy consultancy, has just launched new versions of three of its main computational models. The opdatedntools ing (SDDP), expansion planning (OptGen) and the Time Series Lab (TSL), for generating scenarios for renewable sources.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe features added in the new versions of the models help users deal with the main issues in the global electric power industry today, such as energy transformation, the growing share of intermittent renewable sources in electrical systems and large-scale planning,\u201d says Luiz Carlos da Costa Junior, technical director in the Analytical Tools area at PSR.<\/p>\n

In this sense, the new versions of SDDP (17.3), OptGen (8.1) and TSL (2.1) bring advances in terms of system flexibility, allowing the evaluation of equipment operations at various time scales, enabling robust dispatch in the face of security restrictions in the transmission network. \u201cThe tools also increase the flexibility of operation dispatch by incorporating Dynamic Line Rating (DLR), which considers climatic effects – such as temperature, wind direction and speed and irradiance – to calculate the thermal limits of transmission lines, allowing for better use of line capacity and, consequently, avoiding congestion and electrical safety problems,\u201d explains Alessandro Soares, head of Analytical Tools at PSR.<\/p>\n

The new features of PSR\u2019s analytical tools were detailed by the company\u2019s team of experts during the Latin American Meeting of PSR Users (ELAU), which took place between March 18 and 22, in Panama City. More information can be obtained at this link<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
