Executive Director of PSR, Rafael Kelman; Head of Decarbonization, Luana Gaspar; and Business Development expert, Ricardo Lagares, were on site to kick off the project and visit some of the companies present at the complex. The initiative marks the beginning of an important action aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the State of Cear\u00e1, in line with the decarbonization plans of the state and the country.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main objectives of the project is to carry out a detailed inventory of emissions, as well as an energy and water balance at the CIPP. Based on this data, emissions reduction targets will be established for 2030, 2040 and 2050, in line with Cear\u00e1\u2019s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, PSR and RINA will develop a decarbonization roadmap for the Complex, customized to local characteristics and aligned with international best practices. The plan will also include scenarios and estimates of costs and benefits for implementing the proposed actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government of Cear\u00e1 announced a plan to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. To do so, it needs to determine current emissions, which include those from the Pec\u00e9m Port Industrial Complex.
