Represented by <strong>Raphael Chabar, Jo\u00e3o Pedro Bastos, Alessandro Soares, Guilherme Bodin and Matheus Gon\u00e7alves<\/strong>, PSR was responsible for training EEHC professionals in the use of its advanced analytical tools, which have been licensed by the Egyptian state-owned company since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The five-day training combined theoretical concepts and practical applications, allowing participants to develop skills to elaborate and evaluate plans for expanding electricity generation. The training addressed challenges such as the increasing penetration of renewable sources and the incorporation of new technologies, such as energy storage.<\/p>\n<p>The program included training in three tools developed by PSR:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SDDP <\/strong>\u2013 optimization of medium\/long-term electricity dispatch;<\/li>\n<li><strong>OptGen <\/strong>\u2013 optimization of the expansion of generation and transmission of the electrical system;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Time Series Lab (TSL)<\/strong> \u2013 detailed modeling of wind and solar sources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe had the opportunity to provide training to EEHC on electrical system planning using PSR\u2019s computational models, as well as provide practical support in the application of these tools to plan the expansion of the Egyptian system\u2019s electrical power generation, producing a reliable economic plan for the country with a 2050 horizon\u201d, stated Jo\u00e3o Pedro Bastos, Head of International Studies at PSR.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the training, EEHC professionals acquired knowledge on advanced methodologies for optimization and modeling of electrical systems, enhancing their strategic decision-making capacity for Egypt\u2019s energy sector.
