Discussing paths to make the Social Electricity Tariff (TSEE) more efficient, considering the challenges of the electricity sector, the default scenario and energy consumption in the state of Rio de Janeiro. This was the theme of the event Differentiated Tariff: diagnosis and context for adapting the Social Tariff in Rio de Janeiro, held in July at Casa Firjan. The initiative was promoted by PSR, in partnership with Light and Firjan, as part of the Energy Recovery and Default Reduction Program (PRORIO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting brought together representatives from the electricity sector, government and industry experts to discuss regulatory and operational alternatives that allow for a more efficient and fair application of the TSEE, considering the specificities of the state of Rio de Janeiro and the current challenges of the sector. The TSEE currently serves more than 24 million Brazilian families and plays a fundamental role in the energy inclusion of the low-income population. At the event, the experts also analyzed the recent changes to the TSEE, implemented by Provisional Measure 1,300\/2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From PSR, Angela Gomes, technical director, and Tatiana Zanelato, lead specialist in Networks, participated as panelists, with technical support from Networks analyst Leonardo Fraz\u00e3o. The event was moderated by Rodrigo Polito, lead specialist in Communications at PSR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
