PSR has launched a Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) project to create a methodology for integrated generation, transmission, and storage planning, focusing on the use of pumped storage plants. The project aims to develop this approach through an extension of the HERA computational model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative is in partnership with High Performance Power System Applications (HPPA) and Intertechne, and is sponsored by CTG Brasil. As part of the initial activities, PSR\u2019s Water Resources and Environment team conducted in-person training on HERA, covering tools for mapping and selecting hydroelectric and pumped storage plants. Technicians from various areas of CTG Brasil participated, strengthening technical capabilities and aligning the implementation of the project results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe project seeks to combine innovation and practical application, bringing pumped storage plants to the center of discussions on the expansion and operation of the electrical system. Training is essential to ensure that the solutions developed truly meet the needs of the sector,\u201d says Rodolpho Albuquerque, Water Resources expert at PSR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
