ENERGY SUPPLY AND PEAK: NEW SCARES IN 2022?

OPINION

In this editorial, PSR analyzes the supply perspective for 2022 using six future scenarios, resulting from the combination of the following uncertainty factors: (a) creation of inflow scenarios by two stochastic models: the official and a model that represents the “new normal” of more frequent and severe droughts; (b) new supply scenarios in 2022; (c) alteration of the Belo Monte hydrogram; (d) “CREG 2022” actions that ease multiple uses restrictions; and (e) thermal generation out of order of merit.

WATER RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT

In this section, we look for examples of new technologies and practices that can help with the issue of licensing of hydroelectric power plants with reduced flow stretch (TVR), which has been disputed.

INTERNATIONAL

In this edition, we discuss the proposal for constitutional reform submitted by the president of Mexico to Congress in the most forceful attempt to establish a counter-reform for the country's electricity sector.
