A SPOTLIGHT TO TARIFF (DE/IN)CREASES

OPINION

The Editorial describes the recent tariff readjustments, analyzing their conjunctural causes and the problems that structurally burden the country's tariffs. In addition, it evaluates measures capable of preventing this scenario from worsening in the future and even reducing current distortions in the search for a more sustainable power sector that is better prepared for the energy transition.

REGULATORY

The regulatory section addresses the unfolding of the Simplified Contracting Procedure (PCS) and other relevant topics.

WATER RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT

In this section, we address the challenges arising from the realization and, above all, sustainability of social responsibility measures.

INTERNATIONAL

In this month's international section, we look at the skyrocketing electricity tariffs in the UK and the UK government's package to contain it, which includes a “windfall tax”.

INNOVATION

In the innovation section, we comment on the technological advances obtained in thermophotovoltaic (TPV) plates, which can constitute an efficient option for thermoelectric generation.

STRUCTURAL SUPPLY ANALYSIS

We present the updated demand and structural energy supply balance for the coming years and our traditional “delay meter”.
