The Marrakesh express: feasibility and cost of Brazil's commitments

The holding of COP 22 in Marrakesh, is a good opportunity to analyze the financial impact and the impact on energy mix of the measures taken by Brazil at the last Conference of the Parties: by 2030, a 23% share of non-hydro renewable sources and 10% energy efficiency gains.

In this issue we deal with: (i) Review of the physical guarantees of hydroelectric plants; and (ii) conversion of MP No. 735 into law.

In this issue we deal with changes in land use, which affects emissions more than the electricity sector.

In this issue, we analyze the results of the second Mexican energy auction; and we analyze the competitiveness gains that are being achieved by offshore wind energy.

This issue presents the updated balance of structural demand and supply of energy for the coming years, including our traditional delay meter.

Electronically published since 2006, the PSR Energy Report is a monthly newsletter developed by PSR, whose main objective is to present a comprehensive and current analysis of regulatory, legal issues, water resources and environment and supply of the electricity sector in Brazil.
