In this editorial we discuss the formation and impact of hourly prices in various segments of the electricity sector.

In this section we deal with the following topics: (1) financial surplus and residual exposure; (2) approval of new versions of the computer models; (3) regulations of the sale of surplus by distributors; and (4) new regulations for the Regulatory Impact Analysis (AIR).

WATER RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT

In this section we present an overview of those environmental issues - frequent in recent years and that must be managed by large plants project developers - which delay the issuing of environmental licenses, in line with achieving their performance with social responsibility.

INTERNATIONAL

This section discusses two topics having opposite trends, and their applications in various countries in the world: the role of energy policy instruments, highlighting the centralized participation of planners and of the market, and the strengthening of markets through a decentralized organization of agents.

This section features the updated balance of energy demand and structural supply for the coming years, including our traditional delay meter.
