JANETE CLAIR AND THE NEXT CHAPTERS OF THE ELECTRICITY SECTOR’S SOAPOPERA

OPINION

In this editorial, PSR analyses one of the challenges of Public Consultation 33 (CP 33) proposals, which is the theme of sustainable expansion of generation, focusing on two points: (1) how to ensure participation of the free consumption segment in expansion, and (2) how to improve the issue of price formation in the short-term market.

REGULATORY

In this issue we deal with ultra-fast public consultations held by MME (again!); with the ANEEL agenda for the next two years; and with the MME's proposal for a thermal auction.

WATER RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT

In this issue, we address the theme of preserving Brazilian natural wealth and discuss whether MMA investments to reduce the rate of deforestation and preserve the country's biodiversity through the creation of protected areas are having the desired effect.

INTERNATIONAL

Exceptionally, there will be no International section in this Energy Report issue.

SUPPLY

This edition presents the updated balance of demand and structural supply of energy for the next years, including our traditional Delay Meter.
