Short-Term Operation Schedule
NCP 5.28 introduces the AC Optimal Power Flow (OPF) model, designed to tackle the challenges of the energy transition. With the growing importance of transmission networks due to the rise of renewable energy sources, the need for accurate and flexible modeling tools has increased. The new AC OPF model provides a realistic representation of the network, aiding control and dispatch centers in making informed decisions and ensuring the optimized use of energy resources in short-term dispatch planning.
Key enhancements of the AC OPF model include the introduction of nonlinear constraints, precise representation of voltage levels, tap transformers, more accurate active losses, and reactive power flows and injections. These improvements are critical for maintaining network stability and operational efficiency. NCP 5.28 thus offers a robust toolset for transmission network modeling, supporting system reliability and effective decision-making.
