Alessandro Soares joined PSR in 2017. He currently coordinates the development of methodologies and models in the areas of generation expansion (co-optimization of investments, operating costs, and dynamic probabilistic reserve - OptGen); probabilistic generation of hourly production scenarios for renewable resources such as wind, solar photovoltaic, and CSP plants, combining information from global reanalysis models with non-linear time series models (Time Series Lab); and analysis of the impact of climate change on electrical systems. He has a BSc in Electrical Engineering and Control Engineering from PUC-Rio and is currently developing his master's thesis in Optimization / Operational Research at PUC-Rio. In his spare time, he is usually running, playing chess, poker, and video games in general.
