Pedro Bittencourt is a control and automation engineer with a master's degree in mechanical and robotics engineering, having worked on a diversity of roles in the technology area. At PSR, he works in the design and execution of new digital products and in the implementation of its innovation strategy, including actions in quantum computing and data analytics and machine learning, as well as strategies to optimize and assess commercial and regulatory impacts of distributed energy resources, flexibility aggregators , demand response and microgrids. He started his career in 2005 working with software development and programming of embedded systems at PUC-Rio's laboratories, before getting involved in risk management, machine learning and data analysis projects for the financial market, public administration and energy. As a data scientist, he worked at the Municipality of Rio as part of Grupo Pensa, where he contributed to initiatives to improve public policies in infrastructure and urban mobility using machine learning. He also participated as a researcher in projects at the UFRJ, FGV-EMAP, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) universities. In 2015 he founded the energytech startup GreenAnt, which develops solutions for the efficient use of energy resources through proprietary algorithms. The company has among its clients Ambev, AES, Telefônica, Raízen and Energisa and is recognized as a pioneer in the area in Brazil, with awards such as Engie and EDP 2016 innovation, Open Innovation Contest NTT Japan 2020 and Top 5 Energytech 2020.
