Maria de Luján Latorre joined PSR in 2001. Currently she coordinates the development of optimization methodologies and analytical tools for expansion planning of large transmission systems under production and demand uncertainty (OptNet), reactive power support planning (OptVAr) and optimal AC power flow (OptFlow). She also participated in the development of methodologies and software for stochastic hydrothermal dispatch (SDDP) and in training courses in Brazil and abroad about these topics. Dr. Latorre has BSc in Mathematics from the National University of Rosario and has MSc and DSc in Computer and Systems Engineering from COPPE / UFRJ. She is the author or co-author of ten technical articles in international newspapers and conferences.
In her leisure time, yoga and swimming are her favorite activities.
