Has a BSc, a MSc and a Dsc in Electrical Engineering (with emphasis in Operations Research) from PUC-Rio. He has joined PSR in 2002, where he has been working on the development of computational models applied to the energy sector such as: models for the optimization of gas contracts management for thermal plants under uncertainty (OPTGAS model); for the optimization of portfolios of physical and financial assets under uncertainty and with risk constraints (OPTFOLIO model); for the optimization of mid- and long-term hydrothermal dispatch under uncertainty in centralized environments (SDDP model) and in decentralized markets (MAXREV model), as well as for the short-term hydrothermal dispatch (NCP model). Mr. Chabar has been instructor of several courses in Europe and Latin America, in the areas of energy planning and risk management.
