Ricardo Perez joined PSR in 2009. He currently leads international training and support activities for several PSR models (SDDP, stochastic optimization of the operation; OptGen, optimal expansion of generation systems and interconnections; and NetPlan/OptNet, optimal expansion of transmission systems). In addition, he collaborates closely with the development teams in product vision and application of new methodologies. He also participated in several international PSR transmission studies, such as the development of a new transmission planning system for the Western Electricity Coordination Council (WECC), in the United States.
Previously, he worked in the Generation Planning Department at CPFL and at two institutions in Germany: Technische Universität Dresden, where he developed supply quality research; and at DIgSILENT GmbH, where he carried out studies for the integration of wind farms in the German network.
Mr. Perez has been a speaker at conferences and seminars in Brazil and abroad, and is the author and co-author of several technical papers published at local/international conferences. He has a degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Itajubá and a master's degree in electrical engineering from COPPE/UFRJ.
