PSR will teach one of the courses offered by the CCEE Academy, a new program of the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) that offers training for professionals in the electricity sector. The course “Spot Market Design and Price Formation in the Electricity Sector,” developed in partnership between PSR and CCEE, aims to train industry players on the different electricity price formation mechanisms.

With a 16-hour in-person course load spread over two days, the course offers a comprehensive overview of electricity price formation models, featuring practical examples of applications in Brazil, as well as international experiences that enrich the discussion and expand knowledge.

Among the topics covered is double settlement, a mechanism widely adopted in other countries; as well as aspects such as financial settlement, agent strategy dynamics, and cascade hydroelectric power plant management. The course will also feature hands-on labs to explore different pricing arrangements in the spot market and explore the concepts covered.

PSR’s partnership with the CCEE reinforces the companies’ commitment to disseminating knowledge and further developing the Brazilian electricity sector. Together, the institutions combine technical expertise and practical experience to prepare professionals for the new challenges of the energy market.
