Similarly to the “Mapping of pumped-storage plants”, by overlaying georeferenced socio-environmental layers and information related to generation potential, such as solar irradiation and wind speeds, PSR performs multicriteria analyses using GIS tools, which consider criteria for selection parameters and exclusion categories, for the mapping of viable areas for solar and wind energy development.

Identification through analysis of geospatial data on solar radiation, wind speeds, and wind patterns, superimposed on information on land use, geology, and topography to verify the best technical conditions for plant implementation.
Multicriteria comparative analysis of candidate sites
Selection of the best locations for renewable energy plants through a multi-criteria analysis of the socio-environmental, technical, and economic aspects considered.
Integrated Environmental Assessment
Assessment of the cumulative and synergistic impacts of open-circuit or pump-back power plants on a river basin.
Evaluation of project integration into electric power systems
Analysis of the viability of incorporating reversible power plants into the Interconnected System, determining the optimal expansion that minimizes total expansion costs, including operation and investment, over the planning horizon.
