On the occasion, the PSR team presented the intermediate results of the study “Planificación Flexible de la Transmisión”, contracted by the ISA group, Intercolombia and Transelca. The study aims to carry out transmission planning for Colombia’s national electrical system incorporating flexible equipment such as FACTS and batteries.
Carried out by Julia Spiegel and Silvio Binato, the PSR presentation illustrated the results of estimates of potential benefits for the installation of these new flexible technologies in the Colombian system.
The next steps of the study involve the development of expansion plans considering these flexible technologies, always in a context of enabling a large insertion of variable renewable energies (such as wind and solar) into the Colombian system.
The results will be presented in December this year. The Technical-Regulatory Table was attended by more than 40 people in person and remotely.
