PSR acted as advisor to CPP Investments in the acquisition of 50% of Inkia Energy, one of Peru’s leading energy generators, in a transaction that values the company at US$3.4 billion.
With 2.6 GW of installed capacity in the country, through Kallpa Generación and Orazul Energy Perú, in addition to a pipeline of projects exceeding 4 GW in wind, solar, gas and battery storage sources, Inkia plays a significant role in the expansion and modernization of the Peruvian power generation park.
This transaction marks another chapter in PSR’s activity in the Peruvian market. Recently, the company also advised Actis on the acquisition of Enel Perú (now Orygen) and was involved in supporting financing granted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to Engie Energía Perú.
“For PSR, it is especially relevant to contribute, once again, to a transaction involving one of the country’s main generators, consolidating our work in studies and strategic advisory services in the region,” says João Pedro Bastos, Head of International Studies at PSR.
With involvement in transactions involving the three largest Peruvian generators, PSR consolidates its presence in the country, supporting global investors and companies in the electricity sector in strategic operations that contribute to the energy transition and the strengthening of the local market.
