New technical directors of PSR

Rio de Janeiro, March 26, 2021 – PSR welcomes its new technical directors: Paula Valenzuela, Rodrigo Gelli Cavalcanti and Luiz Carlos da Costa. They join Fernando Porrua and Sergio Granville in PSR’s Technical Board of directors. In addition to the high level interaction with clients and coordination of PSR knowledge areas and teams, the Technical Board contributes to the strategic planning of PSR activities. Paula, Rodrigo and Luiz Carlos have been working at PSR for more than ten years, and the appointment to the board is a recognition of their brilliant trajectories.

 

Paula Valenzuela is an electrical engineer with a master’s degree in Energy Systems. She joined PSR in 2009 and currently coordinates the area of regulation of electricity and gas, covering regulatory due diligence of generation and distribution assets, arbitration procedures and advice throughout the energy value chain for investors.

Rodrigo Gelli Cavalcanti holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He joined PSR in 2006, and currently coordinates the studies of energy pricing and tariffs, including opportunities and risks in the free market; and financial modeling of commercial impacts of regulatory improvements.

Luiz Carlos da Costa Jr is an electrical engineer, with a master’s and doctorate in Operations Research. He joined PSR in 2002, and currently coordinates the development of computational models of stochastic optimization for the operation and expansion of electricity and gas systems, which are applied in dozens of countries on all continents.
